Foscarini table lamp Buds 3 Bamboo Green with diffused light. The hand blown glass diffuser with round, ball-like shape is refined with a high-gloss finish. The special colour scheme – white interior and coloured exterior – gives extra charm to the lamp and enriches every living room – whether bedroom or study.

An opening at the top of the slim glass body allows the light to shine directly and focused towards the ceiling, while soft and warm light comes through the diffuser. Thus, the light is both suited as a desk lamp, bedside table lamp or can be positioned on a chest of drawers as hallway light.

The Italian designer Rodolfo Dordoni placed the glass body on a cylinder-shaped foot made of transparent plastic, which makes the light appear weightless and pure.

Sophisticated wealth and valuable materials: in Buds, blown glass plays the starring role, combined with a transparent base that emphasises its pure shapes. Buds 3 is the smallest of the lot: the colour of its glass is a characteristic bamboo green or warm white.

The base consists of a totally transparent PMMA cylinder, milled according to a pattern and with a mirror-finish polish applied by hand. The support base is covered with a transparent anti-static protective film. The glass is secured to the base by means of a cup-shaped ring nut; there is an on/off switch on the transparent electrical cable which leads out of an oblique groove in the base. The base is packed in a customised product pouch with specific scratch-resistant material which should be used to clean the base itself. Since the aperture of the glass is rather noticeable, the light bulb remains clearly in sight and thus plays an aesthetic role.

Buds is a Foscarini collection of suspension and table lamps designed by Rodolfo Dordoni in the 90s, then redesigned again, interpreting contemporary taste with a sophisticated richness and attention to materials. The protagonist of the design remains the blown glass, with five-layer craftsmanship, immediately evident thanks to the wide cut of the diffuser.
