Venini New Colours 2021 – 100 Year Anniversary

Venini 100 Year Anniversary is celebrated with countless artists and designers who have historically contributed to the prestige of Venini and its master glassmakers, giving life to the glass.

Since 1921, colour has been one of the qualities of VENINI, and a reason for their absolute prestige. For a hundred years, generations of expert craftsmen used their knowledge to prepare precious mixtures made of minerals, oxides, and salts.
In celebration of its 100 Year Anniversary, two new colours have been created, enriching the Venini’s chromatic patrimony: Cipria Pink and Rio Green

Venini Opalino Rio Green Satin

The transparent coloured glass is handblown and decorated at the base by a sword-shaped foot, applied hot free-hand with the addition of gold leaf. The model is enriched by the cold processing technique that characterizes the surface texture, known as Satin.

Venini New Colours 2021 – Cipria Rose & Rio Green

The Venini Handkerchief vase is one of the most imitated in the world. Of course, the difference between a Venini Handkerchief and an imitation is enormous. The craftsmanship of the Venini blowers, the purity of the colors and above all the lightness in the shapes and movements that each Venini Handkerchief presents can be seen and touched in every detail. It has become part of the permanent exhibits at the MoMA in New York. Venini New Colours 2021 for these fantastic works of art are powder pink and rio green.

The new, poetic CIPRIA PINK colour expresses elegance and charm. It lends an ethereal lightness to the iconic pieces.

Venini New Colours 2021 – Monofiore

Monofiore is handmade, blown into the characteristic metal mesh mould that defines its texture. It seems soft, yet it is glass. The optical illusion of VENINI’s Monofiori lies in its name: Balloton, an historic technique that recreates the matelassé effect on the surface.

The new RIO GREEN colour is inspired by the landscape around the lagoon and the magic hues of Venice.

VENINI’s great classics are proposed in these new colours in dialogue with the historic Oxblood Red.
Collections capable of bringing sophisticated atmospheres in homes: every creation is one of a kind, and different from every other: the design excellence and the magic of the furnaces are expressed in a unique object that holds the “made in Italy” manufacturing excellence.

The OXBLOOD RED is a tradition, an historic colour strongly related to the painting of the Renaissance. The red colour was used by the most important Venetian painters between the 15th and 16th centuries, who had at their disposal a plentiful supply of an enormous range of quality pigments available on the market of the capital of the Serenissima Republic.

Model made according to the ancient and complex lattimo glassmaking process, each product one-off. The collection is enriched by the addition of gold leaf applied hot, embellished by intense shades.

How to combine Venini Vases

Now that we already know the Venini new colours 2021, let’s see how we can combine Venini vases well?
The main rule is this: let’s put together two or three Venini vases of the same color and different shapes.
The second solution is: choose the same shape, perhaps with different sizes and with different colors. If instead we prefer to have Venini vases of different shapes and different colors, it is better not to put them together; so each vase can develop its own personality.

Alternatively, if you have a very large space to place many Venini vases, the ideal solution would be to go on 2 colors and combine various shapes, so everything will be harmonious as in this photo:

The hourglass is decidedly larger and more imposing than the other Venini hourglasses and is blown ONLY in 99 pieces. It comes with the certificate of authenticity and each hourglass has its limited edition number signed on the base.

Venini Hourglasses limited edition are grape/rose and amber/rose.

Grains of sand – impalpable, imperceptible, invisible, yet as present as the passage of time. In perennial balance between two different colors, the sand passes between two glass puffs, taking on the color, becoming part of it.
