The design of the Fabergè Emotion collection is somewhat reminiscent of a Fabergé Mosaic egg which was one of the fifty-two imperial Easter eggs made by Peter Carl Fabergé for the Russian imperial family.
The egg was created by order of Nicholas II in 1914, as a gift to his wife Alexandra Feodorovna for Easter 1914.
The egg is produced by the jeweler Albert Holmström and is one of the most expensive.
The Easter jewelry egg is assembled from a system of yellow gold belts, to which a platinum net is attached, partially decorated with diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, quartz, topaz and green garnet.
The egg is divided into five oval groups with pearls edged with lines of opaque white enamel.
Five large diamonds are set at each intersection. In the upper part there is a moonstone, through which the gold initials of the queen are visible, inlaid in a pale pink matte enamel.
The surprise hidden inside was a miniature cameo with profiles of Nicholas II’s children made of gold and decorated with pearls and enamel. The oval base, in the shape of a vase with a white stem, is decorated with diamonds, emeralds and two pearls. The upper part has the imperial crown set with diamonds.
