H Deco Black and White Porcelain Mug Set
The Hermès H Deco Set of 2 Mugs brings together two complementary porcelain mugs from the H Deco collection: one white mug with black geometric decoration and one black mug with white geometric decoration. Together, they create the distinctive positive-and-negative contrast of the H Deco design.
Each mug has a 30 cl capacity, making the set well suited to coffee, tea and other everyday drinks. The contrasting colorways give the pair a coordinated yet varied character, making it particularly suited to serving two guests or creating a distinctive coffee and tea setting.
The decoration features the iconic double-H “Lift” motif at the centre, surrounded by intricate geometric elements inspired by the Art Deco ironwork of Hermès’ Parisian stores. The contrasting black-and-white compositions highlight the architectural character of the H Deco collection.
The double-H motif recalls the elevator and main entrance door of the historic Hermès store at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The two interlaced Hs also echo the union of Émile Hermès and Julie Hollande in 1900.
Designed by Benoit Pierre Emery, the two mugs combine practical everyday proportions with the distinctive graphic identity of H Deco. The decorations are screen-printed and applied by hand, and the mugs are made in France.
Care Instructions
The mugs can occasionally be washed in the dishwasher, although Hermès recommends hand washing with a soft, non-abrasive sponge to help preserve the beauty and brilliance of the decoration. They are not microwave-safe due to the presence of precious materials.
