H Deco Black Porcelain Mug with White Decoration
The Hermès H Deco Mug n°2 is crafted in black porcelain and decorated with an intricate white geometric pattern inspired by the Art Deco ironwork of Hermès’ Parisian stores. Its 30 cl capacity makes it well suited to coffee, tea and other everyday drinks.
The black porcelain creates a bold backdrop for the contrasting white decoration, giving the mug a distinctive graphic presence. At the centre of the design is the iconic double-H “Lift” motif, around which the geometric pattern unfolds in the characteristic H Deco composition.
The double-H motif recalls the elevator and main entrance door of the historic Hermès store at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The two interlaced Hs also echo the union of Émile Hermès and Julie Hollande in 1900.
Designed by Benoit Pierre Emery, the mug combines practical everyday proportions with the architectural character of H Deco. The decoration is screen-printed and applied by hand, and the mug is made in France.
Care Instructions
The mug can occasionally be washed in the dishwasher, although Hermès recommends hand washing with a soft, non-abrasive sponge to help preserve the beauty and brilliance of the decoration. It is not microwave-safe due to the presence of precious materials.
