H Deco Porcelain Sugar Bowl for Tea and Coffee Service
The Hermès H Deco Sugar Bowl is a refined porcelain piece designed for serving sugar alongside tea and coffee. Its compact square format provides an elegant way to complete a carefully arranged beverage service.
The design features the distinctive black-and-white geometric decoration of H Deco, with the iconic double-H “Lift” motif at the centre. The geometric composition draws inspiration from the Art Deco ironwork of Hermès’ historic Parisian stores.
The double-H motif recalls the elevator and main entrance door of the historic Hermès boutique at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The two interlaced Hs also evoke the union of Émile Hermès and Julie Hollande in 1900.
Designed by Benoit Pierre Emery, the sugar bowl combines a practical serving function with the distinctive graphic character of H Deco. The decoration is screen-printed and applied by hand, and the piece is made in France.
Care Instructions
The piece can occasionally be washed in the dishwasher, although Hermès recommends hand washing with a soft, non-abrasive sponge to help preserve the beauty and brilliance of the decoration. It is not microwave-safe due to the presence of precious materials.
