Hermès Attelage Design

Designed by Philippe Mouquet, Hermès Attelage translates the Maison’s equestrian heritage into a distinctive language of flatware. The collection’s original handles are inspired by the saddle rings used in the harnesses of multi-horse carriages, transforming a functional element of equestrian equipment into a refined detail for the table.

The design is defined by its sculptural handles, balanced proportions and restrained lines rather than by surface decoration. This gives Attelage a distinctive silhouette while keeping the equestrian reference subtle. The same design language extends across dining, dessert and serving pieces, creating a coordinated collection for both everyday dining and more formal table settings.

The 15-piece Attelage collection covers table, dessert and serving cutlery, with the range available in different finishes. Scopelliti 1887 offers stainless steel, silver-plated and gold-plated Attelage, as well as complete place settings, larger cutlery sets and individual pieces, subject to availability.

The pieces are made in France. Hermès states that its flatware can be washed in the dishwasher, with specific care recommendations depending on the finish. For silver-plated and gold-plated pieces in particular, following the Maison’s care instructions helps preserve the finish and appearance over time.
