H Deco White Porcelain Small Plate
The Hermès H Deco Bread and Butter Plate n°1 is a refined porcelain piece designed for serving bread, butter and small accompaniments. Its compact format and distinctive black geometric decoration give it a sophisticated presence on the table, whether used for everyday dining or more formal settings.
At the centre, the iconic double-H “Lift” motif is surrounded by an intricate decoration that spirals across the surface. The design is inspired by the Art Deco ironwork of Hermès’ Parisian stores, translating architectural details into a distinctive tableware design.
The double-H motif also carries a connection to Hermès history. It echoes the design found on the elevator and main entrance door of the Maison’s historic store at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, while the two interlaced Hs evoke the union of Émile Hermès and Julie Hollande in 1900.
Designed by Benoit Pierre Emery, the plate combines a strong graphic identity with the craftsmanship of Hermès tableware. Its decoration is screen-printed and applied by hand, and the piece is made in France.
Care Instructions
Although Hermès H Deco tableware can occasionally be washed in the dishwasher, hand washing with a soft, non-abrasive sponge is recommended to preserve the beauty and brilliance of the decoration. The plate is not microwave-safe due to the presence of precious materials.
