Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala conceived the original design, rediscovering the long-lost Incalmo technique during his collaboration with Venini. Incalmo, meaning “fusion” in Italian, refers to the process of fusing two glass elements of the same diameter but different colors while they are in a molten state, creating a seamless, vibrant blend.
