Herend Porcelain Teapot
To taste a tea is an art. Water quality and temperature, brew time, color and leaf quality are all important considerations. The choice of the teapot plays a vital role in brewing and tasting your tea.
Porcelain is one of the most prized materials for teapots. The smooth sides do not retain the smell of previous infusions. Porcelain preserves fragile aromas: it is particularly well-suited to green and white teas.
Advantages of porcelain teapots
- Delicate, refined appearance: Porcelain teapots are extremely popular amongst luxurious hotels and restaurants for their translucent and refined appearance.
- Low heat transference: Porcelain doesn’t transfer heat in the same way as stainless steel, making porcelain teapots easier to handle by staff and customers.
- Relatively durable: Whilst not as strong as stainless steel, porcelain is usually less likely to break than ceramic teapots.
Painted only by Master Painters
The Blue and White Triangles make up the most forceful element of the décor around the edge of the pattern.
From these cartouches spring forth the Wild Flowers in the pattern’s Name: the Pansy, the Bean Flower, the Madonna Lily, the Daisy and Petunia.
The Mosaic and Flowers decor was used mostly by European Dukes in the late 18th century.
This design won the Gold Medal at St. Petersburg World Exhibition in 1901.
