Pure beauty and natural charm characterize Volière, a collection which epitomizes the masterful craftsmanship and artistic heritage of Richard Ginori. The collection’s designs, featured on the signature Empire shape, are inspired by 19th-century botanical drawings, skillfully reproducing twelve species of birds perched on intricate festoons. Surrounded by golden tendrils, twelve different bird motifs unfold their own life: each one is lifelike right down to the feathers. In polished gold not only the foliage is finely graduated, each bird also carries its elaborately decorated name plate. The images are framed by floral motifs delicately highlighted with pure gold edging. Each figure is split up into different elements and colors, reproducing every hue, detail and colorful marking with a palette of more than fifty shades. The over glaze, applied using a special firing process, protects the pigments’ sheen. Every single item of these cups and plates is masterly handmade in many different operations and then carefully checked, as a masterpiece from the Italian manufactory goes without saying.
