Hermès Passifolia Design

Designed by Nathalie Rolland-Huckel, Hermès Passifolia explores the richness of tropical flora through a highly detailed botanical composition. The collection pays tribute to nature in its wildest state, with lush foliage and flowers unfolding across the porcelain and extending into the interiors of selected pieces. The design creates the impression of a flourishing botanical landscape rather than a repeated single motif.

Passifolia is distinguished by its exceptionally rich palette of 32 colors, used to reproduce the depth and variety of the flora. Shades of mint, sage and celadon green are combined with vivid fuchsia, coral and garnet tones, creating a vibrant contrast against the white porcelain. The botanical details vary from piece to piece, giving the collection a distinctive visual character while maintaining a coherent table setting.

The 30-piece Passifolia service is designed for lunch, dinner and tea and coffee, with selected pieces also conceived as decorative objects. Hermès combines the botanical artwork with traditional tableware forms, allowing the collection to move naturally between everyday dining, entertaining and decorative use.

The decoration is screen-printed and applied by hand, with a gold finish applied by hand with a brush. The pieces are made in France, combining the precision of porcelain decoration with the craftsmanship required to reproduce the collection’s intricate botanical imagery and gold details. Because of the presence of precious materials, Hermès recommends hand washing with a soft, non-abrasive sponge to preserve the decoration, and the pieces are not microwave-safe.
