The Bernardaud Marie Antoinette Dinner Plate is part of the legendary service created for the Queen of France. Its elegant “Comte d’Artois” shape is adorned with the iconic pearl and cornflower decoration, a motif symbolizing both simplicity and refinement. The cornflower—Marie-Antoinette’s favorite wild flower and the color of her eyes—is delicately framed between rows of pearls and highlighted with fine gold accents. Traditionally used to present the main course, this porcelain dinner plate is often placed atop the charger plate for a refined table setting. Beyond its function at the table, it also serves beautifully as a decorative piece, whether displayed on a wall, bookshelf, or mantel. With only two surviving pieces from the original service preserved at the Versailles château and the Louvre Museum, this dinner plate evokes the luxury and artistry of 18th-century French porcelain.
