This delicate type of satin effect is obtained by overlapping one or more layers of transparent colours to the Milk-white opal glass. This glass was created for the first time in Murano in the early 15th century. They tried to imitate porcelains. This technique is called “velatura”. The impression is that veils of grey, gold and red smoothly pour over the delicate forms of the vase. A delicate ornament for either classic or modern environments.

Founded in 1920 on the famed Venetian island of Murano, Italy, Venini Glassworks honors the uncompromising nature of its master craftsmen. They tirelessly seeking new, rich colors and textures that move the art form beyond its traditional limitations and make it truly contemporary. Venini’s nearly century-long commitment to both progress and perfection allows them to offer a collection of art glass and lighting that is as daring as it is exquisite.
