The glass in the medium and large version is incorporated with a matt transparent injection moulded polycarbonate ring nut, which is in white polycarbonate in the small version. A product of natural inspiration and extensive research, Gregg’s shape is reminiscent of a large pebble, its surface polished by the water. It could even be seen as the egg of some mythological beast, a symbol of creation and re-birth. Pure volume with a familiar ease of interpretation, yet one that is surprising, because Gregg’s asymmetric shape changes depending on the point of view of the person observing it. This is a new solution where a traditional material like glass becomes a tool in the designer’s hands to give an original character to an environment. There are three dierent sizes in the table version.
In the home environment the warm, uniform light produced by the white satined difuser and its essential style have a strong functional and decorative value. Thanks to the closed shape of the diuser, the bulb is screened in all directions, which protects from dazzle and makes it easy to place even at dierent heights. When part of a composition, Gregg is suitable for some of the most surprising uses. A ’raindrop’ structure highlights the vertical extension of a window or stairway, producing an extremely striking efect. Vertical arrangement of a multitude of suspensions at various heights generates spectacular luminous false ceilings.

The breglass-based composite material diuser is produced by modelling tape along a mould with an automatic control of the pitch/pattern, which is then epoxy powder coated. The large version features two separate light sources: one is located at the upper tip of the diuser, and the other inside the diuser; upper parabola made of aluminium.
In the medium version the single light source in the base inside the diuser; the dimmer on the transparent cable can be used both to adjust the level of luminous intensity gradually as well as an ON/OFF switch.
The seduction of a woman’s tress wash the initial inspiration for the Tress family of lamps. This design-come-true by Foscarini was achieved through the development of a completely original technological process, involving a berglass and resin tape woven with orderly casualness to become the structure and aesthetics of the lamp. Tress changes personality according to its colour: it is light and discrete in white, strong and decisive in black and volcanic and totemic in crimson, which makes the contrast between the interior and the exterior even more evident. In the oor version the weave includes the power cables and acts at the same time as the structure, decoration and screen, a never before seen interplay of full and empty spaces, light and shadow. The light spread through the lamp produces a particularly attractive efect, thanks to two separate light sources: the one in the lower position completely illuminates the interior and highlights the graphic presence of the weave, while the upper light produces an illuminated refection towards the ceiling. - Foscarini
