The Malmaison pattern silver-plated caviar serving set comprises an outer ice presentation dish and a crystal bowl capable of holding 8.8 oz. of caviar. The bowl features a lid adorned with a closed lotus plant motif. Renowned as one of Christofle’s most historic patterns, Malmaison embodies the Empire style, boasting a frieze adorned with intricate palm and lotus leaves, as well as impeccable symmetry. Its name pays homage to the Chateau de la Malmaison, a beloved Parisian abode of Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine. Notably, it stands as the sole line to offer caviar serving pieces.
The silver-plated handle of the caviar spoon is in the Malmaison motif. The bowl of the spoon is made of horn which unlike serving with a metal utensil, helps preserve caviar’s natural flavor.
