The company Artemide has contributed to the history of Italian and international design with products such as Eclisse (1967, by Vico Magistretti), Tolomeo (1989, by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina) and Pipe (2004, by Herzog & De Meuron), all awarded the Compasso d’Oro Award.
In 1994 the company received the Compasso d’Oro award for career and the prestigious European Design Prize in 1997.
Artemide lamps are internationally considered as icons of contemporary design: they are exhibited in the major modern art museums and design collections of the world (MoMA – New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art – New York, Victoria and Albert Museum – London, National Museum of Science and Technology – Milan, National Gallery of Modern Art – Rome, Paris, Center Georges Pompidou etc.)
